10/23/2007: Senate Passed Legislation to Recapture 61,000 Unused Numbers for Allied Healthcare Workers
* In the legal immigration, the allied healthcare community has strongest lobbying groups in the nation. These groups were able to muscle passage of a legislative bill in the Senate yesterday recapturing 61,000 unused EB-3 foreign worker visa numbers for them. This bill was passed as part of the Labor-HHS 2008 appropriation bill. Reportedly, this bill faces two roadblocks ahead to make it into a final legislation. One is the White House that has been threatening to veto the Labor-HHS bill in toto because of the amount of spending. Second is the House that has to agree to the Senate version in the conference committee. However, the second roadblock does not seem to pose any serious threat as demonstrated by the move of some of Democrats in the House. Please stay tuned.

I suspect, if the camera has a chargable clock battery, it's NOT a "user-servicable" part. The idea is that they don't break.
That's just a guess - I don't have a D70, so I don't know for sure.
I did a few entries in Google, with the result that I'm fairly sure the clock-battery is an internal non-user-changable battery [particularly a reference to the same technology being used on a Nikon D1].
I expect that aside from the inconvenience and shipping cost, the service is fairly reasonable in cost... But that's just a guess...

What are the timelines for I-539 Change of Status for H1 to H4?
Is premium processing option available for the this change of status?
Friend worked till last week of pregnancy (clean H1 history before). Her 12 weeks of maternity leave is ending soon and looks like the family needs to pay attention to child's condition and she has no choice but to become a full-time mom (another full-time job in itself though). She was in status during her maternity leave (some part of which was covered by STD insurance, remaining unpaid leave totaling 12 weeks under FMLA). She needs to change her status from H1 to H4.
- File for H1-H4 ASAP with in the unpaid leave window
- No premium processing available for H4

I would like to re-enter the US after my trip since I'll basically be traveling with a backpack. I know I can just ship everything up front but ideally I would like to come back for a few weeks before leaving. Just wanted to know if this was an option.

For stamping you should not need pay stubs to prove your staus. Uninterrupted pay stubs are very important for change of status when you are applying while in US. When you leave US you dont have a status, the visa officer should not base his decision on the continuity of pay stubs. I went through a very similar situation, my change of satus was denied even though I was on genuine unpaid leave. However I ended up leaving the country and getting H1B stamped in India with no problems.

My I797 and I94 expired on Sept 30 2009. I have applied for an H1B extension on Sept 26 2009 using premiuim processing.
H1B extension got denied on Oct 29, 2009 after we responded to an RFE on Oct 19.
RFE required me to provide Tax returns, company wage report and employment agreement.
Can any one suggest what are my available options.
How long I can stay in US?
My lawyer is still waiting for the denial letter for more details.

My PD is 08/04/06, and my AP is expiring on June 2nd, I probably will have to travel sometimes June end. I am in a fix if I should go ahead and apply for Ap now. My PD will be current begining June 1st. I heard it may take 1 week to 60 days to get GC after your date becomes current, Do you guys think it's good idea to just apply for AP just in case?

You may apply for AP at any time right? If you apply now, it is very unlikely that you will receive before your June end travel. And if you don't get your GC in june what will you do ? see, it is very easy to ask confusing questions. :)

If the supporting documents are not complete or if USCIS wants more evidence, you should get an RFE. USCIS post Receipt Notice only after they make sure that at least the very mandatory supporting gdocuments are in proper order!

I am a registered professional civil engineer in the state of PA having an educational background of a BS from India and MS from the US in civil engineering. I got my H1B extension approved last year for its second term of three years. I have been working in the same company since my graduation and also hold an approved I-140. I am planning to visit India in March to get my visa stamping done and am concerned about the reports of valid H1B holders being returned from Newark. Do you think I should avoid Newark as the PoE?

The Vermount center seems to be having problems with their online system. I am in same boat as you, I have got the receipt for my H1 Extn but the System doesn't show up the receipt. You cannot rely on the online system or phone system to get your status update since they both share same data and both haven't been updated.

I'm in my 3rd year of my first H1-B which will be expired Sep. 2011.
If I transfer my H1-B now to another company, then do I automatically get another 3 years or do I have to file an extension after my H1-B has been transferred?
