If u r not married, its better to change the job using H1b transfer and use Ac21portability to continue the GC process ( new job should be similar). You don't have to use EAD. Once you start using ur EAD, you loose ur H1B status automatically and it would be hard to bring your wife on H4.
Here are the answers for ur three questions.
1. Your 485 will be in good standing as long as you change the job after 180 days of 485 receipt. You don't need any support from your ex-employer. But make sure your I-140 is approved before you leave and try to get the copy of it. If you leave before 140 approval, employer can revoke it and then your 485 will be denied. From the website http://www.immigration-law.com/Canada.html we can see that there are only 140000 GCs ...
1. Year Cap: 140000 (for EB)
2. India Limit: 7% = 9800 ONLY
3 Now imagine how many years it will take to cover up the number like 750000.

if i check in the wesite or call the ins they say its approved bt my consultant states that the same had a query which i have also seen was sent to her , the query was sent in aug and we did reply the same instance . rite now im on student visa and abtto complete my mba and eligible for my internship . im veri much in the usa . please guide me as to wat shud i do tackle this situation and whts the next step . i want to wrk asap . i also that want to knw after its approval wat r the next step of docs tat i shud have and wat is it that i need to have to gain a upper hand and be out of this mess

I am in a similar position, I have applied for my I-485 last july and PD is Jan 2007, I haven't got any RFE yet but reading all the posts I think I might get one for BC. My BC has 20th August as date of birth but from my school certificate,PP, DL all have 17th August date and I have send an affidavit with I-485 from my parents that I was born on 17th August. But Now when I read all the forums I think I should have send the affidavit which should have said that 20th was right but I did not know that uscis gives more importance to BC date instead of dates on other documents.
Does somebody know what uscis might do? Should I support 17th or 20th date now? and if 20th then is it possible date on school certificate, DL can be changed? I finished my 10th in 1990 and CBSE board. but on CBSE website they say they can change the DOB but only if I had finished 10th in the last two years.
Can somebody please suggest what to do since I can be ready if i get RFE.

don't worry.
The age determination for the purpose of aging out is done at the time of I-485 filing and not adjudication. You guys are safe!
They can't age out children just because they sit on an application for 5 years...

I think at the present time this could be in doubt in all honesty since the USCIS have said there are no visa numbers available and are only accepting applications since they screwed up. So in essence there are no priority dates that are current. Your age is only set in 'stone' if your I485 is submitted when a visa number is available to you and that is not the case through August 17th.
Guess this rather strange outcome of the visa bulletin fiasco could raise any number of new scenarios.

Well, his job responsibilities are now more than before. I am not sure if this new position requires a masters degree.
It is the same employer but just a different job. The lawyer we have is always scared. We tried to do EB 2 about 2 years ago, she filed everything but retrieved the whole process when she felt we may have an RFE.

1. You are trying to form a small group inside a big one.
2. You PD should be in Jan/Feb/Mar so you worry about people just blocking your way.

Travelled back from India today by continental flight from mumbai till newark non stop. My H1b is expiring on 19th june. Had a ISSUELESS entry. The guy asked your petition is valid only till 19th June. I replied I am going to file an extension. he said you will be needing to reenter the country after it. I said "yes, I know". He said he is going to give in I-94 valid till 29th june just in case if I have any issues. That is 10 more days after my petition is expring.
Guy was very nice and supporting. We shared some jokes . he notices that by passport has writing that If I take citizenship of any other country than I have to surrender the passport. he asked "india dont allow dual citizenship". I said "No". he replied "It sucks" and we laughed together.
My advice dont let current recession effect your trip. If you need any more information PM me. I will be happy to assist.
Also, just I wanted to share the information becuase many people seemed worried about this.

I think I had a birth certificate in native language(devangiri) and it had no name since I was named in a naming ceremony as per the customs and culture. I spoke to my attorney about this.She advised me that i get the BC transalated to english and for no name get affidavites by two people saying that the birth certificate was indeed me and i was named later as per customs and culture.I got affidavtes sworn by my mother and father.
Also I dont think that you should have names of both father and mother in BC . ninety pecenty of Birth Certificates issued in India only have fathers name on it.
